Alderman Laurino's "TURN YOUR TRASH INTO TREASURE"

 
 

Dear Neighbor,

 

Spring is finally here! Mayor Daley's Spring Clean & Green will be on Saturday, May 17, 2008, and this is our opportunity to beautify and restore our neighborhoods.

 

In addition to cleaning up the ward, Alderman Laurino is encouraging everyone to "Turn Your Trash Into Treasure." She is  asking neighbors to do a little spring cleaning and donate new or gently used items to local charities and agencies. While cleaning out your closets, garage, basement or attic, you may find old clothes, furniture, electronics, etc. that you are ready to let go of. Below is a flyer with a detailed description of local charities where you can donate all different kinds of items.

 

We're very excited to get these spring events underway. I hope you, along with your family and friends, will be able to participate in some way. AFTER YOU CLEAN OUT YOUR CLOSETS, GARAGE, BASEMENT, ETC. PLEASE DONATE CLOTHES, FURNITURE AND OTHER ITEMS TO THE FOLLOWING ORGANIZATIONS:

 

1.         Salvation Army: Assists the homeless & those in need

2.         Chicago Abused Women Coalition

Items: "Wish List" includes blankets, wash cloths, slippers for women and

children, baby carriers, baby bottles, diapers, women's and children's

3.         The White Elephant Shop: Donations benefit Children's Memorial Hospital

4.         World Relief: Assists those that have come here from other countries.
