A meeting of the Board of Directors of the Sauganash
Community Association. was held on April 24, 2006 at the
North Shore Community Bank.
President Dennis Hammer called the meeting to order at 7:00
PM.
Minutes of the last meeting were read and approved.
A design committee has been formed to co-create a booklet
with the Alderman's office to act as a guideline for new
residents and contractors. The booklet will give a history
of the community, outline zoning regulations, and recommend
design features that would be in keeping with the integrity
of the community. The goal would be to encourage home
improvements that would enhance the Sauganash neighborhood
image.
The real estate/zoning committee decided that, in the
interest of the community, they will write an article for
the local papers outlining the zoning regulations for
Sauganash.
The group discussed the attempted child abduction at
Wildwood Park. The suspect was a white male with a beard and
salt and pepper hair, 35-40 years old with a tattoo
(possibly a snake) on his left forearm.
Four kids were arrested for breaking windows on Forest Glen
Avenue.
The board members are looking for sponsorships from local
businesses for the 4th of July party and parade. It was
decided to include a New Orleans jazz band in the parade.
Volunteers for the event are needed, so please contact the
hotline (773-777-3393) if you can help. A dues solicitation
letter will be sent in late May. A motion was made and
carried for funds for the mailing.
Additionally, the committee will look into purchasing
additional Sauganash window stickers. The meeting adjourned
at 8:05 P.M.
