The nominating committee slate for next year was reviewed by the board.  The current officers will remain with the exception of the treasurer.  A motion was made and accepted to accept the slate as presented.   A new treasurer is being sought.  Three new board members applications were discussed.  A motion was made and accepted to add all three candidates to the board.

Public institution matters were discussed.  The new addition to the Sauganash School will begin after school lets out.  Renovation of the Sauganash Park Playground is put on hold because of a delay in some major contributions.

The real estate committee reported an update on the proposed change in the dry status of the 15th precinct.  The ordinance that disallows the sale of alcohols within 200 feet of a school property line extends to the entire building in question.  Since the building at the Northwest corner of Peterson and Keating extends along Peterson Avenue almost to Cicero, no restaurant serving alcohol can be in that building even if the change were to take place.

The membership committee reported that we now have 689 members which exceeds last year's numbers.

The City Department of Aviation announced it will permanently close on May 6, 2010 a segment of the major diagonal runway 32 left/14 right.  It is likely that day and night landings from the east on this busy runway will be diverted permanently to other runways, most likely the runway over Sauganash which is 27 left.

The Committee has made contact with the Sauganash Village Homeowners Association.  We expect them to join the O’Hare noise coalition.
