FEBRUARY 2009 MEETING UPDATES

A meeting of the Board of Directors of the Sauganash Community Assn. was held on February 17, 2009 at the North Shore Community Bank.

President Jennifer Costales officially called the meeting to order at 7:15 PM.

The January minutes were approved.

The membership committee reported that membership is 674 as of February 17, 2009.  The committee has decided that if new members join by March 1st that will entitle them to attend the Spring Fling and their membership will be in effect until June 1st of 2010.

The community Spring Fling party is scheduled for March 1st at 3:00 to 5:30 PM at the Al Primo Canto Restaurant in Edgebrook.

Plans for the 4th of July celebration are in progress.  Event Chair, Renee Bennett, is looking for volunteer help for this popular community event.  Members of the Community can call the SCA hotline, 773 – 777-3393, and leave their name and number and she will contact them.

A donation was approved for the Sauganash School.

The Board discussed the pros and cons of continuing our Director’s insurance.  More information will be brought to the next meeting.

The Design Committee booklet is finished.  It was suggested that the booklet be available on line, at the Edgebrook library, the North Shore Community Bank, local realtors and other businesses.

It was announced that a forum of candidates to replace Congressman Emanuel will take place on February 18 at Northside Prep at 7 P.M.

Two of our members reported that they attended the last CAPS meeting.  Their purpose is to keep us informed of any issues that affect our community.

It was reported that no new snowplowing has been necessary so far this month.

Plans for the 5K race are continuing.

It was stated that Cicero Avenue between Devon and Irving Park is on the list for resurfacing.
