A meeting of the Board of Directors of the Sauganash Community Assn.
was held on January 30, 2007 at the North Shore Community Bank.
President Dennis Hammer called the meeting to order at 7:00 PM.
President Hammer apologized for cancelling the meeting which was
scheduled for January 23rd. It was necessary due to a family
emergency.
The treasurer gave a brief report and stated that we currently are
within budgetary constraints. The President stated that a dinner for
the Board of Directors would be paid for and hosted at the North
Shore Community Bank.
A motion was made and seconded to donate $600 to the Sauganash
Garden Club. After discussion the motion was approved.
It was announced that Alderman Laurino will host a property
assessment appeal seminar on February 6th at the Sauganash Park
Field House.
Committee assignments were discussed and changes were made by the
board members.
The holiday party was discussed. It was moved and seconded that next
year, in place of a holiday party in December, we host a spring
party in March. This would enable more people to attend since
holiday party conflicts may contribute to reduced attendance.
After discussion the motion was approved.
A member of the Sauganash Design Committee which is working on the
community booklet gave a report. It included the information that
they investigating the possibility of qualifying for the National
Registry of Historic Places. A group of Loyola University students
will do the necessary work for qualification. If we do not succeed
in qualifying the information the students gather will still be
useful in putting together the design booklet. Students will be
photographing homes and asking residents' questions. They will carry
appropriate identification. A Question and Answer information sheet
about the Register of Historic Places will be published in the
Sounds.
It was announced that Whole Foods is will open on February 21.
The group discussed steps to be taken to repair and replace the
American flags at Forest Glen and Peterson and at the memorial
garden.
