NOVEMBER 2006 MEETING UPDATES

A meeting of the Board of Directors of the Sauganash Community Assn. was held on November 21, 2006 at the North Shore Community Bank.

President Dennis Hammer called the meeting to order at 7:00 PM.

Minutes of the last meeting were approved.

There treasurer's report was read and approved. He reported that expenses were up this year due to an increase in insurance and the purchase of the new Sauganash sign. A motion was made and approved to make a donation to the Robert Perkaus III Memorial Fund at Loyola Academy.

Final plans for the Holiday party were discussed.

The Sauganash Chamber is working with the developer of the Whole Foods property on plans for streetscaping. Additionally a traffic engineer as been hired to make suggestions regarding traffic at the site.

The Sauganash design committee is working hard on the heretofore mentioned Sauganash design booklet. The group met
with Alderman Laurino and three city officials: a zoning administrator, a landmark commissioner and a building inspector.

Altering a home within its zoning purview cannot be challenged. However the zoning commissioner encouraged the design committee to create home alteration guidelines. When a variance is requested, a letter from the City is sent to the Alderman and she will notify the Association.

The landmark commissioner reported that there is a ten year project in the City to identify notable buildings. They are listed in a register. She feels certain that there are some homes in the neighborhood on this list. A committee member will research the list for buildings in Sauganash.

The group discussed how to distribute the tee shirts left over from the 5K run.

The meeting adjourned at 8:20 P.M.
