A meeting of the Board of Directors of the Sauganash Community Assn. was
held on September 26, 2006 at the North Shore Community Bank.
President Dennis Hammer called the meeting to order at 7:10 PM.
Minutes of the last meeting were read and approved.
There was no treasurer's report.
The membership committee reported that there are 708 paid members
compared to last year's figure of 718. There are 1,400 potential
households.
The 5K Race/Walk Committee reported that they are putting together the
final details for the race which will take place this coming Sunday,
October 1. They gave additional details about the day's plan. They also
stated that local businesses have contributed nice handouts for the
participants. There are 85-90 pre-registered participants and turnout is
expected to be good. There will be a feedback meeting held on Monday
night after the event.
It was reported that the Community Holiday party is to take place
Friday, December 1st at Moher's restaurant, 5310 W. Devon. The
restaurant will be closed to the public during the party from 6:00 to
10:00 P.M.
The design committee has requested funding to hire a consultant to
assist in the production and creation of a design booklet. The booklet
is to be used as a resource guide for exterior design of new home
construction and additions to existing homes in Sauganash. A consultant
is needed to help in producing a high quality product. A motion was
passed that money be allocated for this purpose.
A discussion regarding snow-plowing services for the coming season will
take place during the next Board meeting.
It was announced that the referendum to determine the sale of liquor in
the precinct containing the Whole Foods Store would be on the November
ballot in that precinct only. It is important for voters to understand
that a "no" vote means approval of the change. The change would allow
the sale of alcohol in that precinct.
