Each of us can make a difference!

-  Recycling one ton of paper saves 17 trees
-  The energy saved by recycling one glass bottle would light-up a bulb for 4 hours
-  Recycling 125 aluminum cans saves enough energy to power a home for one day

Thank you for your support to get the blue cart recycling program to the 39th Ward next.  The 39th Ward Blue Cart Advisory Committee gathered 2,000 paper and electronic signatures and over 300 entries for an in-school art contest for 6th and 7th graders.  The art contest asked them to create a Super Hero Blue Cart Recycling mascot.

On the night of August 19, at the City of Chicago budget hearing at Falconer School, the committee testified and presented the petition signatures and the contest winners' art work to Mayor Daley and Commissioner Picardi.

None of this would have been possible without your help.  Until we have the Blue Cart program in our ward, we need to continue pushing on by doing  the items below.

Thank you again for your support!
