She called out to him, he replied and continued walking away from the house towards the alley and left. Our neighbor inspected the rear porch and discovered a broken window ...she called 911 and police responded. No one was caught. The homeowner was gone for less than one hour. The suspect is described as follows: Male Hispanic 30's - Medium Build Wearing a dark jacket and a hat similar to a mailman's (with ear flaps) (A small white sports car with a darker top was seen parked on the street as the homeowner was arriving home and was gone shortly after the incident occurred. This vehicle is possibly connected to the suspect.) Within an hour, a homeowner confronted a suspect who broke into her home in the 4800 block of Catalpa. He fled; the homeowner gave a description of the offender being similar to suspect on Kirkwood. As a reminder to all, call police if you see suspicious activity in our area. It is always best to get a good description noting the license plate on vehicles and with persons the more detail the better. The 17th District Tactical Team is working on this for us. SCA Bob Perkaus Memorial 5K If you're interested in volunteering and/or sponsoring this event, please send an email to bobsrun@gmail.com Bob Perkaus III, for whom the race is named, was a life-long Sauganash resident until his sudden death in 2005. For two decades he was an active member of the Sauganash Community Association and he spent several years as its president. Dedicated to family and community, his passion was running. He jogged the streets of the Sauganash neighborhood daily, while training for marathons in Boston, Chicago and L.A. Thus, it is fitting that this Sauganash Community’s annual fall event – the Sauganash Community Association Bob Perkaus 5K Memorial – travels these same streets. This event honors Bob’s life and legacy. Proceeds from the event will go to a scholarship fund at Loyola Academy in memory of Bob Perkaus III, and to support the Sauganash Community.
