A new Montessori Preschool and Kindergarten set to open in Sauganash
 

Sauganash Montessori School located at 5750 N. Rogers at the corner of Rogers and Kilbourn Ave. will open in late summer. The school will enroll children ages 3-6 years old and will be open from 7:30 a.m. to 6;00 p.m. Monday through Friday. The school is open year round and offers half day, partial day and all day programs.

The school's mission is to cultivate the child's own natural desire to learn and provide the child with a prepared environment, in which they may freely explore the world around them. In this prepared environment, children experience the excitement of discovery and are fundamentally motivated by a love and desire for knowledge.

The owner and operator of the school is Katie Higgins. Katie has taught, over the past ten years, in Montessori schools throughout the suburbs. Her goal is to bring high quality education in a beautiful environment to the residents of Sauganash, Edgebrook and the surrounding area. Katie Higgins was born and raised in Edgebrook, She attended St. Mary of the Woods Elementary School, Regina Dominican High School, Marquette University and Midwest Montessori Teacher Training Center in Evanston.
